A Taste of Reidsville Foodie Tour

While some may flock to the bigger cities for upscale cuisine and that ever developing“foodie culture”, here in Reidsville, we’d like to think the heart of a true, delicious North Carolina plate lies in our small towns. Small town flavor is always made fresh and served with that southern down-home comfort we crave. While small towns may fly under the radar, our restaurants do not! Get all the tasty details below.

Downtown Quick Bites

209 S.W. Market Street

24 Blackbirds is a one-of-a-kind experience offering a refreshing selection of sandwiches, salads and homemade desserts in their family-owned cafe as well as a customizable menu for catered events. At 24 Blackbirds, they know delicious food made with fresh ingredients is the key to a tasty meal.

Our Contribution to the NC BBQ Trail

1328 S Scales Street

Now THIS is a true North Carolina landmark. Short Sugar’s has been family-owned and operated since 1949! Their distinctive and award-winning hand-pulled barbecue and sauce has even made it into the“Best Bar-B-Q in the Nation” accolade. It’s not uncommon to see customers who have flown in internationally or driven hundreds of miles just to add this local gem to their must-have stops on the East Coast. This old school diner is like stepping back in time and should be on any foodies bucket list!

Gourmet Find with a Twist of Traditional Pub Fare

234 SW Market St

At the Celtic Fringe, you will get the best of Ireland right in Downtown Reidsville. From traditional Celtic cuisines to local southern favorites to the award-winning wine, this small-town favorite will satisfy even the most sophisticated of palettes.

Every Dog Has its Day

107 N Scales Street

Being in this Dog House isn’t punishment, in fact, it’s a reward to your tastebuds! It’s hard to truly master the art of a perfect hot dog, but this nostalgic downtown hot spot has it down to a delicious science. After all, we cannot live on burgers alone…we need our hot dog cravings tended to on a regular basis. By the way, they also serve ice cream and milkshakes!

Cruise back to the 50’s

128 S Scales Street

Cafe 99 is a local favorite you can cruise to all year long. The 50’s throwback diner provides a menu of old-timey selections with fast service and a smile. The owner, David Gerrells, is heavily invested in the City of Reidsville and a top Team Reidsville contributor. Located in the heart of downtown, it is a great place to bring family and friends and then browse the local shops or attend an event.

As you can see, Reidsville, NC is filled with some pretty amazing restaurants. We encourage you to skip the long lines and crowded spaces of the big city and try out some of the best cookin’ around in small town, North Carolina.
